Planiter ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our iOS mobile application.

Planiter is designed to be privacy-friendly. The app primarily operates offline and does not require you to create a personal account. When you use the optional collaboration feature, trip data is stored on Firebase servers so it can be shared with others. We collect only minimal technical information necessary to improve app functionality and user experience.

Information We Collect

Information Collected Automatically

When you use Planiter, we automatically collect limited technical information through third-party services:

Google Analytics

• Button clicks and screen views within the app
• Device information (device type, operating system version)
• App version and usage statistics
• General location data (country/region level only)

Firebase Crashlytics

• Crash reports and error logs
• Device state information at the time of crashes
• Stack traces and debugging information
• Device model and operating system details

Firebase Remote Config

• Technical information necessary to deliver feature flags
• App version information

Information You Provide

Feature Requests (Firebase Firestore)

• When you submit a feature request, we store the request content for 7 days
• No personal information is required or collected with feature requests

Support Form (Google Forms)

• When you submit a support request through our website form, we collect:
  • Email address (optional - only if you provide it for us to reply)
  • Type of inquiry (required)
  • Message content (required)
  • App version (optional)
• This information is stored in Google Forms and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy
• We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry and improve our app
• Support form data is retained indefinitely for customer service purposes unless you request deletion

Support Messages (Crisp Chat)

• When you contact us for help or feedback through in-app chat, we collect:
  • Your message content
  • App version number
  • Technical information automatically collected by Crisp (device type, browser data)
• We do not require or collect email addresses or other personal identifiers
• All support conversations are anonymous

Feature Request Voting (Roadmap Sidetrack)

• When you vote on feature requests through Sidetrack, information is collected according to Sidetrack's Privacy Policy

Collaboration (Firebase)

When you use the collaboration feature to share a trip with others:

• An anonymous account is automatically created on Firebase Authentication — no email, name, or personal information is required
• Your trip data is stored on Firebase Firestore so it can be accessed by collaborators
• Trip data stored on Firestore includes destinations, itinerary details, and any content you add to the shared trip
• We do not link your anonymous account to any personal identity
• If you do not use collaboration, your trip data remains entirely on your device

Optional iCloud Backup

If you choose to enable iCloud backup:

• Your trip data is backed up to your personal iCloud Drive
• This backup is optional and controlled by you
• We do not have access to data stored in your iCloud account
• iCloud data is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely to:

• Analyze app usage patterns to improve features and user experience
• Identify and fix bugs, crashes, and technical issues
• Understand which features are most used
• Respond to your support requests and feedback
• Enable or disable app features remotely when necessary
• Review and consider feature requests from users

We do not:

• Sell your information to third parties
• Use your information for advertising purposes

Children's Privacy

Planiter is available to users of all ages, including children under 13. We are committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar international regulations.

COPPA Compliance:

• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13
• All analytics data collected is anonymous and cannot identify individual users
• We do not require children to provide any personal information to use the app
• The app does not contain advertising or in-app purchases directed at children
• Our support form does not require an email address, allowing children to submit feedback anonymously

Since Planiter operates without user accounts and collects only anonymous technical data, it is designed to be safe for users of all ages.

Data Retention

• Feature requests: Automatically deleted after 7 days
• Support form submissions: Retained indefinitely for customer service purposes unless you request deletion
• Analytics data: Retained according to Google Analytics' default retention policies
• Crash reports: Retained according to Firebase Crashlytics' default retention policies
• Support messages (Crisp Chat): Retained for customer service purposes, duration varies based on necessity
• Collaboration data: Stored on Firebase Firestore for as long as the shared trip exists; deleted when the trip is removed by all collaborators
• Anonymous accounts: Firebase anonymous accounts are retained as long as the collaboration feature is in use
• iCloud backups: Controlled entirely by you and stored in your personal iCloud account

Your Rights and Choices

Analytics Opt-Out:
Since our analytics collection is minimal and anonymous, we do not provide an opt-out mechanism within the app. However, you can use iOS settings to limit ad tracking, which may affect some analytics collection.

Collaboration Data:
You choose whether to share a trip. If you stop sharing, the trip data is removed from Firebase servers. You can request deletion of your anonymous account by contacting us.

iCloud Backup:
You can enable or disable iCloud backup at any time through the app settings.
